Volusia County has over 40 miles of coastline, yet for decades, our best friends have been largely left behind. It’s time for a change that reflects our community's love for both our pets and our pristine beaches.
Our goal is simple: Repeal Volusia County Ordinance 20-113.
By removing this specific restriction, we can open our shores to responsible dog owners while keeping our beaches safe and clean. This is not a "free-for-all" — it is a fair and common-sense proposal for the County, local families and our visitors!
We believe in responsible citizenship and stewardship. Under this proposal:
Leash Laws Remain: All dogs must remain on a leash at all times.
Sanitation Laws Remain: Owners are strictly required to "pick up" after their pets.
Safety First: All existing county safety and behavior regulations stay in full effect.
Florida is home to dozens of successful dog-friendly beaches that prove we can have both a thriving environment and a pet-friendly community. Let’s bring Volusia into the modern era.
Support the repeal. Support our pets. Support a more inclusive Volusia.
